This study examines 18 rice field hut objects created and exhibited at the Archifarming 2023, an exhibition featuring bamboo installations designed by architectural practitioners and handed over to local farmers. Recognizing the importance of applying ordering elements in architectural design, this research explores design forms using one of the design theories, namely ordering systems, which encompass function, space, geometry, link, and enclosure. Combining observation and analysis of supporting literature, the data is processed descriptively, evaluatively, and comparatively to identify similarities and differences in each aspect. The dominant ordering element used in the Archifarming 2023 installation is geometry, and upon further research, there are interrelations between the ordering elements that are crucial to creating harmony in design. Additionally, utilizing bamboo as the primary material enhances insights into natural materials and locality aspects. These findings also offer new perspectives on architectural design development in art exhibitions, contribute to design practices, and stimulate sustainability considerations in improving the quality of bamboo installation exhibitions for architects, designers, exhibition curators, and the wider community.
Maria Vika Wirastri, Nathania Copyright (c) 2024 ATRIUM: Jurnal Arsitektur https://atrium.ukdw.ac.id/index.php/jurnalarsitektur/article/view/260 Thu, 01 Aug 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Redesain Pasar Sanggeng, Manokwari sebagai Fasilitas Umum Ramah Disabilitas https://atrium.ukdw.ac.id/index.php/jurnalarsitektur/article/view/224
Title: Redesign Sangeng Market, Manokwari as a Disability-Friendly Public Facility

A market is one of the public facilities that function as a fulfillment of life’s needs and is used continuously by the community, so it must meet the needs of various groups, including groups with disabilities. Sanggeng market as a public facility faces accessibility issues for its users, especially those with disabilities. Disabilities refer to temporary or permanent limitations or loss of sensory and physical mobility capabilities. The pre-design research on the Redesign of Sanggeng Market aims to identify reference standards and design guidelines, particularly for physical disabilities. The research analysis is transformed into building design. The methods employed include a literature study on disability reference and general standards, precedent-building studies, and observations of similar cases. The analysis follows four principles of accessibility, which are applied to circulation, market support facilities, kiosk planning, and stalls. The research results encompass safety principles in circulation pathways, ease of use in guiding block and signage planning, usability principles in kiosk and stall design, and principles of independence in achieving access. This redesign significantly impacts the organization and revitalization of existing zones and functions. It is expected to contribute to city planning that embraces the principles of equality for the residents of Manokwari.
Cezia Jenifer Tambahani, Sita Yuliastuti Amijaya, Maria Kinanthi Copyright (c) 2024 ATRIUM: Jurnal Arsitektur https://atrium.ukdw.ac.id/index.php/jurnalarsitektur/article/view/224 Thu, 01 Aug 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Implementasi Metode Penilaian Bangunan Hijau Berbasis Aplikasi EDGE pada Pembelajaran Arsitektur https://atrium.ukdw.ac.id/index.php/jurnalarsitektur/article/view/285
Title: Implementation of Green Building Assessment Method based on EDGE Application in Architecture Study

The climate change phenomenon in the modern era is one of the leading causes of environmental quality degradation. The building and construction sector is the largest contributor to carbon emissions, reaching 40% compared to other sectors. The sustainability of life will continue to be threatened by developments that are not ecologically friendly. Thus, humans must exercise greater responsibility in all of their development decisions. It is essential to inculcate early knowledge of sustainability and green building concepts, especially in architectural education. The EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) application is considered capable of being a tool in the design process that can practically calculate the impact of each design element on building efficiency. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of a green building assessment method based on the EDGE application in the learning process of architecture students. The output of the study was the skill to design a building with a green building approach using EDGE as a tool to quantify the building's performance. Based on the output and survey of participating students, they all stated that using EDGE was very useful in the architectural design process. More than 80% also mentioned that the workshop method used in the class was effective. Through this learning process, the fundamental principles of green building design are accessible to students and can be included in architectural plans.
Christian Nindyaputra Octarino, Yordan Kristanto Dewangga Copyright (c) 2024 ATRIUM: Jurnal Arsitektur https://atrium.ukdw.ac.id/index.php/jurnalarsitektur/article/view/285 Thu, 01 Aug 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Perbandingan Tektonika Pembentuk Sistem Modul Ruang di Rumah Vernakular Madura dan Sumba Barat https://atrium.ukdw.ac.id/index.php/jurnalarsitektur/article/view/249
Title: Comparison of Tectonics Forming Space Module Systems in Madurese and West Sumba Vernacular Houses

Taneyan Lanjhang is a type of residential pattern in Madura, inhabited by one large family and consisting of several mass structures and a courtyard in the middle, one of which is the Roma Bangsal building intended as a residence for women. Due to limited land, the designed module system must meet internal users’ needs and capacity. This research aims to compare and discover what factors influence the formation of spatial module systems from the tectonics through anthropometric dimensions in the form of residents' daily activities and social activities in Roma Bangsal, Bangsal gabung. As a comparison, Uma Mbatangu houses are used in Ratenggaro village, West Sumba. The analysis method was carried out descriptively and qualitatively. Data collection uses a literature study method that visualizes plans, sections, and details. Roma Bangsal and Uma Mbatangu have unique architectural elements, especially the form and connection system. The similarity between the three in virtual aspects such as social strata (gender), light, empty, openness, and physical aspects, including materials, daily activities, scale, and proportion influencing how the connection to the module system creates the external appearance of the building, structure and indoor plan to create matters of integration.
Alvin Febrian, Altrerosje Asri, Cynthia Santoso Copyright (c) 2024 ATRIUM: Jurnal Arsitektur https://atrium.ukdw.ac.id/index.php/jurnalarsitektur/article/view/249 Thu, 01 Aug 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Relasi Perubahan Bentuk, Makna dan Fungsi Ruang pada Rumah Abdi Dalem di Yogyakarta https://atrium.ukdw.ac.id/index.php/jurnalarsitektur/article/view/264
Title: The Relationship of Changes in The Form, Meaning, and Function of House Space in The Abdi Dalem Houses in Yogyakarta;

Case Study: Abdi Dalem's House in Kampug Siliran, Kelurahan Panembahan, Kemantren Keraton, Yogyakarta City

The Yogyakarta City Fort is one of the iconic architectural objects in the Yogyakarta Palace area. Within the fort are several traditional Kampung Abdi Dalem settlements; this residential area is often known as the Jeron Benteng area. Changes in the spatial layout of traditional village houses occur every period. Therefore, this study focuses on the relationship between changes in the form, meaning, and function of the house space in the Kampung Abdi Dalem Siliran settlement, Yogyakarta. The house's occupant is abdi dalem, who serves the Sultan's family. Cultural shifts due to globalization have caused changes in the function, meaning, and form of the house. The leading cause of the changes is the increase in family members and life-supporting activities such as economic and educational endeavors. This study aims to determine the characteristics of changes in the abdi dalem house in Kampung Siliran. The research approach uses qualitative research with case studies. Primary and secondary data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data were then analyzed and tested for validity using the theory of spatial change flexibility. By analyzing changes in spatial layout, it is concluded that changes in the spatial layout of the abdi dalem house in Siliran Village did not change the main room, but only the additional rooms.
I Wayan Sutasoma, Paulus Bawole, Freddy Marihot Rotua Nainggolan, Wiyatiningsih Copyright (c) 2024 ATRIUM: Jurnal Arsitektur https://atrium.ukdw.ac.id/index.php/jurnalarsitektur/article/view/264 Thu, 01 Aug 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Analisis Permasalahan Bentuk Konstruksi Rangka Atap di Indonesia https://atrium.ukdw.ac.id/index.php/jurnalarsitektur/article/view/238
Title: Analysis of The Problems in the Form of Roof Truss Construction in Indonesia

The Nusantara archipelago has various architectural forms, such as traditional houses with various roof shapes. These roof shapes consist of various forms of roof support frame construction. Problems arose when the Dutch came and brought the concept of truss construction. This concept was massively applied throughout the Nusantara archipelago, even making the architectural construction learning system in Indonesia use methods developed by the Dutch, making it hard to align with construction in the archipelago. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The analysis was carried out by identifying and comparing traditional houses' roof frame construction supports and their roof slabs with houses with horse-horse construction from the Netherlands to gain knowledge of the problems in the roof construction of both. The findings of this study are that the roof shape and support construction are one package as an interaction between the shape and support construction. These diverse forms also give birth to various roof support frame construction forms. However, the influence of the Dutch horse-horse construction has made experts more inclined to use the Dutch hanging horse concept rather than developing roof support frame construction that has been proven to be integrated with the roof shape. Nowadays, the hanging truss concept has many applications in the construction of traditional houses, which is considered less suitable.
Christophorus Koesmartadi, Mohhamad Kusyanto, B. Environmental management with an anthropocentric approach needs to start shifting to an ecocentric approach in its implementation, especially in managing conservation areas, to achieve sustainability goals. Ten New Ways is a principle of managing conservation areas in Indonesia initiated by Mr. Wiratno to build a learning organization so that conservation area management can provide benefits across generations. Rawa Aopa Watumohai National Park (TNRAW) is one of the national parks in Indonesia that applies 10 New Ways of managing its area. This study aimed to determine the application of an ecocentric approach in TNRAW through 10 New Ways of its management by placing humans as creatures who depend on and care about the environment and the universe. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection through observation and interviews. The research results show three main contexts in managing TNRAW with an ecocentric approach through 10 New Ways of conservation management. Applying 10 New Ways in TNRAW is an ecocentric approach to managing conservation areas. Through 10 New Ways to Manage Conservation Areas, it is proven that there is an increase in ecosystem selection in TNRAW. Conservation area management with an ecocentric approach benefits the community while maintaining the sustainability of the ecosystem.
Galeh Primadani, Tutun Seliari, Bahnur Salimin Copyright (c) 2024 ATRIUM: Jurnal Arsitektur https://atrium.ukdw.ac.id/index.php/jurnalarsitektur/article/view/292 Thu, 01 Aug 2024 00:00:00 +0000
